WORKSHOP ON GENDER EQUALITY
Women Development Cell (WDC) of M.V.M. Degree College of Commerce & Science in collaboration with NGO Vaccha has organized two days workshop on 25th September and 26th September 2017. The event took place on the 1st-floor school building. The main objective of this workshop was to sensitize the students toward various issues related to gender inequality.
EXPRESSION – “ WHO IS REAL VICTIM ?”
The WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CELL of MVM Degree College has organized event named “EXPRESSION” in collaboration with NGO- Majlis Legal Centre. The main objective of the event was to sensitize students on women-related issues, raise awareness about women legal rights and to allow students to share their thoughts on women related issues.
On 16th July 2016, there was a seminar held on “AWARENESS ABOUT HEALTH & HYGIENE ISSUES” at M.V.M College of Commerce & Science, Andheri. The Women Development Cell of the college also known as “Jagruti” had arranged this programme for the well being of the girl students.
The chief guest and speaker for the event shared his knowledge and expertise with our students. Dr Sejal Ajmera Desai, Obstetrician and Gynecologist delivered a speech covering understanding of human reproduction system, the cycle of menstruation, basic hygiene, and protection from sexually transmitted diseases, self-protection, healthy eating habits, diet plan and many other topics which were of great importance in today’s lifestyle we live in.
SELF DEFENCE AND JUDO
Women Development Cell of MVM College believes that Safety always comes first. Current Society environment demands learning and adoption of self-defence by every individual today. On 8th October 2015, MVM Degree College conducted a workshop on “Self-Defence” for Girls and Judo practice for Boys. The session was taken up by the Marshall Art Experts Mr.Manohar Bangera and Mr.Yatish Bangera.
SELF IMAGE AND ITS IMPLICATIONS ON OUR STATE OF BEING
On 20th December 2014 a seminar was organized by Women Development Cell of MVM Degree College, Andheri at 10.00 a.m. onwards. The objective of the seminar was to create awareness about the self-image of women’s and it impacts on our own state of being.
WDC invited Ms. Kruti Trivedi who enlightened us all on different health problems faced by the girls and women. She explained about personal hygiene and precautions to be taken to avoid such problems. She also focused on good and healthy diet food for today’s lifestyle.
Dr. Urvi Mehta gave a lecture on speech therapy with reference to audiology. She also gave a good knowledge about vocal health and how we can take care of it.
